Madera Unified School District held a two-day New Teacher Orientation at Matilda Torres High School.
Nearly 100 new teachers came together Tuesday and Wednesday to a kick-off orientation and were welcomed into the district by cheerleaders from all three high schools with a walkway tunnel.
During the orientation, they received presentations on Madera Unified’s instructional technology, health benefits, union, and curriculum instruction. They also had a bus tour of the city and the district schools they will be a part of during the 2021-22 school year.
The goal of the orientation was so the teachers have the right tools to be successful in their classrooms and give students the best possible experiences.
“We are excited to be able to welcome this great group of new teachers to our district. We wanted to make sure that they felt welcomed and be able to start the new school year trained, confident, and ready on day one,” said Joseph Aiello, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
