Madera County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 28000 block of Avenue 15 following reports of a suspicious person who had been seen on a security camera breaking into a home.

Deputy Martin Gonzalez was first on scene last Saturday afternoon, and located the male suspect in a Ford F250. After seeing Deputy Gonzalez, the suspect proceeded to ram an iron gate and the patrol car, nearly striking Deputy Gonzalez, in an attempt to flee. The truck was subsequently disabled, and he exited the vehicle.

The suspect was safely taken into custody without further incident. Anthony Angel Carrillo, a 28-year-old Merced resident, was arrested booked at the Madera County Jail on several felony charges including felony attempted murder of a peace officer, residential burglary, vandalism, and motor vehicle theft.
