Madera Community College welcomed students back to campus Wednesday.
To date, 4,011 students have registered for classes, whether it is online or in-person classes.
Short-term classes were announced, giving community members the opportunity to enroll after the traditional start to the school year.
“It was great to see students in-person. The campus has come back to life, and it feels good,” said Ángel Reyna, President, Madera Community College. “We know many people are still helping their kids get started back to school and getting everything in order. The short-term classes allow students to jump in and reach their goals without waiting an entire semester.”
Short-term classes include courses needed to complete an Associate Degree or transfer to a four-year institution, as well as options to gain technical, workforce skills. Courses range from psychology to economics to nutrition and cybersecurity. Most classes will be taught online with quality instruction and student support. There will be limited face-to face options.
Students can take advantage of free laptop checkout, a food pantry, and additional funding for financial aid.
