A plaque dedication ceremony was held at the Centennial Park playground, in honor of Thaddeus Sran.
The playground, which was designed specifically for kids with special needs,was officially dedicated to Sran on Saturday with a plaque that read, “A small life walked by leaving footprints on our hearts forever.”
In 2020, 2-year-old Thaddeus Sran was reported missing by his mother, Briseida Sran, and father Sukhjinder. The Madera Police Department worked in coordination with community members, local businesses, City staff, US Marshals, Madera County Sheriff’s Office, City of Chowchilla Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to search for Thaddeus.
Sadly, his remains were discovered near an orchard just outside of the City.
Sran’s parents pleaded guilty to the murder of Thaddeus and four-month-old Divina in July, and were sentenced in October.
Brieseida Sran admitted to the 2020 killing of 2-year-old Thaddeus Sran, as well as the killing of another child, her 4-month-old daughter, Divina Sran, in 2015.
Briseida Sran has accepted responsibility for both deaths and will be sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Her husband, Skhjinder Sran, has also pled guilty in the killing of Thaddeus. There is no evidence of his involvement in the killing of Divina.
Sukhjinder Sran will serve 11 years in prison after accepting responsibility for his actions.
