Kidnapper sentenced to 150 years

In March of this year, Madera was shaken by a horrendous crime.

Otis McKinzy, a registered sex offender who had just moved to Madera two weeks prior, kidnapped, and sexually assaulted a female resident of Madera on March 20.

The female heroically escaped McKinzy in Modesto. Madera Police Department officers and detectives quickly identified McKinzy as the suspect, and worked diligently, utilizing every available resource to track and locate him. McKinzy was found by the Elk Grove Police Department in Elk Grove, approximately five hours after the escape of the female.
