Highway patrol in high-speed chase

A 27-year-old male thought it would be a good idea to lead CHP Madera officers on a high speed chase Saturday night.

Little did he know CHP had eyes in the sky (CHP Helicopter, H-40). Due to his reckless driving, CHP ground units discontinued the pursuit, and H-40 continued to track the vehicle.

The driver subsequently pulled over at a local gas station. CHP units responded to the scene and apprehended the driver without incident. The driver was booked at the Madera County Jail for felony evading, DUI, and other charges.
