FMAS to host Sitterding event

The Friends of Madera Animal Shelter (FMAS) will host a SNIP (Spay Neuter Imperative Project) event on September 20 at the Madera County Health Department from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

The event will include raffle prizes, toys, treats and more. This is a pre-scheduled spay and neuter clinic. To register, contact the FMAS at (559) 363-5106. More than 100 animals were treated at the August event.

The FMAS would like to remember Linda Sitterding, a lifelong Madera resident whose kindness and compassion made a lasting impact on the community.

She cared deeply for both people and animals. She understood how important spaying and neutering pets is in reducing animal suffering, easing the burden on families, and helping our community as a whole. Throughout her life, she helped many Madera residents alter their pets, often providing support wherever it was needed.

As part of her legacy, Sitterding made a generous bequest to Friends of Madera Animal Shelter to continue helping Madera County residents with spay and neuter assistance.

The FMAS is honored that she chose FMAS to help carry forward this important work. The Linda Sitterding Spay-Neuter Fund will continue supporting Madera County residents who need financial assistance to alter their pets.

Her compassion will continue to make a difference for animals and families in our community for years to come.
