Becky Koop from the Friends of Madera Animal Shelter (FMAS) presented Madera Cleaners & Laundry with a heartfelt thank you plaque in recognition of their hard work in supporting the local animal rescue on Monday.
Owner, Dan Cappelluti shared that approximately five years ago he had a conversation with an FMAS employee, Diana Frazier, and discovered that the employees were going to a local laundromat to try and keep up with the rescue’s laundry needs.
“We go through so much laundry on a weekly basis,” Becky Koop shared. “We use sheets to line our kennels, and towels and blankets are used in travel carriers to and from vet appointments and adoption events.”
Cappelluti graciously offered to let them bring it to his business, and he has personally processed it for them. He shared that he has huge machines that can hold five or more regular washing machine loads. The time and cost that Madera Cleaners & Laundry has saved FMAS is priceless in the employee’s eyes.
FMAS is already struggling with a skeletal crew of one part-time and two full-time employees, and is constantly looking for ways to keep the local rescue going.
The workers tirelessly help local Madera stray and unwanted cats and dogs find forever, loving homes. FMAS also hosts a low-cost vaccine clinic for the Madera community the first Saturday of every month.
Madera Cleaners & Laundry is a long- standing local business in Madera that provides garment care, such as standard dry cleaning, laundry and household items. Their generosity and kindness to FMAS is greatly appreciated.
