Officers with the Madera Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a motor vehicle and an electric bike (e-bike) Wednesday evening.

During the incident, the e-bike rider was struck while traveling through an intersection, resulting in significant injuries. The rider was transported by EMS for medical treatment, and is currently in stable condition.

In light of this incident, MPD would like to share important safety information with both current and new e-bike riders in our community. As e-bikes continue to grow in popularity throughout Madera, we want to encourage riders of all ages to practice safe, responsible, and legal riding habits to help prevent future accidents and keep our roadways safe for everyone.
