California Highway Patrol Madera officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on southbound State Route 99 just south of Avenue 12 on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers determined that a 45-year-old male from Reedley was driving his 2006 GMC Sierra southbound on SR 99. He allowed his GMC to veer to the left, and off the roadway, causing the pick-up to collide with a guardrail in the construction zone.

The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. As a result of this crash, the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
