Donuts lead to DUI arrest

Over the weekend, Madera Police Department Officer Jose Barajas was patrolling the area of Tozer Street and Lada Avenue when he observed a truck driving recklessly on the roadway by doing “donuts.”

Officer Barajas conducted a traffic stop, and interviewed the 28-year-old Madera resident. The resident exhibited signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was unable to perform Standard Field Sobriety Tests to a satisfactory level.

The suspect was arrested and booked in the Madera County Jail on charges of DUI, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.
