Deputies face down Oakhurst gunslinger

An Oakhurst man was booked into Madera County Department of Corrections last week on charges of firing a gun outside his home and threatening to kill members of his family.

Patrick Haynes, 51, was arrested the evening of Feb. 13 after deputies responded to a report of the gunfire outside Haynes’ house on Road 620 in Oakhurst.

The officers included Sergeant Rob Blehm, Deputy Michael Murphy, Deputy Gerald Marin and Deputy Jose Villafan, who set up a perimeter after arriving at Haynes’ house.

The officers called the subject for several minutes until he came out of the residence.

During the course of the investigation, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Kayla Serratto, Corporal Miguel Hernandez and Deputy Jackson searched the inside of the house, and seized bullets and several guns that were accessible and in plain sight.
