Serving the heart of California since 1892

Deerpoint Group creates first-of-its-kind Organic White Box

Deerpoint Group, a leader in automated crop nutrition serving growers across California and Arizona, announced the first-of-its-kind Organic DPG White Box, expanding its managed crop nutrition system to support organic growers.

This is the only organic, continuous in-field nutrient delivery system that sits alongside irrigation filter systems. The Organic White Box helps organic growers address one of their most persistent operational challenges — applying lower-concentration organic fertilizer efficiently without increasing labor demands.

“Organic fertilizers generally contain lower nutrient concentrations than conventional products. As a result, organic crops require more frequent fertilizer applications, which can increase labor requirements and operational complexity. Through continuous fertigation, we are automating this process while providing the agronomic oversight needed to improve nutrient management,” said Jeff Carr, Director of Grower Relations, Deerpoint Group. “One year after our acquisition by Edgewater Capital Partners, we are proud to demonstrate what an increased investment in R&D, strengthened technical expertise, and more grower-driven focus can produce.”

Deerpoint’s White Box is a field-installed, automated fertigation system that delivers crop nutrition through irrigation water and continuously manages nutrient applications through the growing season. The Organic White Box enables continuous fertigation, with smaller applications and more precise doses that improve overall crop potential and soil health.

With Deerpoint’s new leadership, the company has embraced a grower-driven approach to innovation, building around real-world challenges while expanding research, technical capabilities, and custom crop nutrition programs.

“The Organic White Box is a great example of how Deerpoint is accelerating innovation by empowering our team to move faster, think more creatively, and develop solutions around the evolving needs of growers,” said Mike Hemman, CEO, Deerpoint Group. “So when an organic process tomato grower already using our conventional White Box wanted to incorporate organic nutrients, we listened.”

Deerpoint builds crop nutrition programs around the operational challenges growers face in the field. The company brings the agility of a startup, combined with more than three decades of proven agronomic expertise, to create the innovation required to meet the changing needs of specialty agriculture.

With a new focus on collaboration from the Edgewater Capital acquisition, Deerpoint is creating products that lead the industry. The first Organic White Box shows Deerpoint’s ability to develop customized nutrition strategies around individual crops, production systems, and long-term business objectives.
