Coyotes make it close in final home game

The Madera Coyotes girls basketball team used a late fourth quarter run to get back in the game, but it wasn’t enough in a 40-35 loss to the Sanger West Hornets in the final home game of the season.

The Coyotes outscored the Hornets 14-7 in the fourth quarter, and cut the Hornet lead to two with 11.8 seconds left before the Hornets closed the game with three points in the final 1.1 seconds Thursday evening.

The game started with a bit of sportsmanship between both Sanger West and Madera. In the final home game, the two coaches allowed injured Coyotes Aaliyah String and Jania Warren get one last time getting introduced in the starting line-ups and play on the court.
