A pedestrian was walking on the east shoulder of Road 26 north Mateo way when a vehicle struck and killed the pedestrian.
A unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Road 27 at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, and veered onto the east shoulder, striking the pedestrian.
The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene, traveling north without stopping to render aid to the pedestrian and also failed to contact emergency personnel.
