Madera California Highway Patrol officers responded to a multi-vehicle, chain reaction crash on State Route 41, just south of Avenue 12 on Tuesday at about 7:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation determined a 57-year-old male from Fresno was driving a 2020 Peterbilt semi-truck, with a set of double trailers, northbound on SR-41, just south of Avenue 12, approaching stopped traffic ahead due to a red light.

A 21-year-old male from Madera was driving a 2017 Honda Accord, northbound on SR-41, and stopped directly ahead of the Peterbilt.
