After a second place finish in the State Championship, the Madera Babe Ruth 15-year-old All-Star team qualified for the Babe Ruth Southwest Regionals, held in Long Beach.
The 15s advanced to the third place game and finished fourth out of nine teams. Three players — Juan Gil, Thomas Rodriguez and Anthony Bursey — were named to the All-Regional Team.
After the State Championship run that saw Madera fall to Santa Maria in the championship game, Gil, Arturo Hernandez, Carlos Gil and Rodriguez were named to the All-State Tournament team.
