California Assemblywoman Esmeralds Soria honored 15 women who either live or work in District 27 (Madera, Merced, Fresno) who have been nominated by other community members for the district’s Women of the Year.
The women were honored on March 25 at the Women Leading the Way awards event at the Madera Municipal Golf Course.
Among those being honored were two from Madera. Leon Hipolito, who was recently honored with a Woman of the Year award by Madera City Councilmember Elsa Mejia, was among the honorees. She is the CEO of Poquenos Empresarios.
