Woman killed in single-car accident

A 67-year-old woman from Fresno was killed as she attempted to round a curve Tuesday, about 2 p.m., approaching the Riverbend Golf Course on Avenue 12, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Rosie Johnson was driving east of State Route 41 on Avenue 12 at an unknown rate of speed when she lost control and rolled her car off a sharp curve, according to information from the CHP.

Emergency crews found her pinned under the car, and said she likely died on impact.

The incident remains under investigation, but officers said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the daylight crash. Weather at the time was sunny, clear and dry, the CHP said.
