In the early morning of May 25, Dominic Martin and Tyrus Crew broke into Rite Aid Pharmacy, 335 W. Olive Ave. in Madera, while the business was closed, according to Cpl. Brent Cederquist of the Madera Police Department.

Once inside they made their way to the pharmacy, stole several prescription bottles of controlled substances, then fled.

Officers arrived on scene quickly, Cederquist said, and conducted an intensive investigation.

Information was shared with neighboring police agencies, resulting in the two suspects being spotted in Fresno.

The suspects attempted to flee in their vehicle but crashed into a tree. The suspects then tried to flee on foot, but were apprehended and arrested.

The stolen prescription bottles were located inside the suspects’ vehicle, as well as several other items of evidence connected to the crime.

Dominic Martin and Tyrus Crew will face multiple charges in Fresno County and Madera County, said Cederquist.
