Subtle change with new fair leadership

When Barbara Leach took over as the CEO of the Madera Fair in December, little did she know what she was getting into.

However, the eight-plus month ride will culminate September 4-7 with the annual Madera District Fair and Leach is excited about giving the Madera community something they can all be proud of, and that everyone can attend.

“My goal is to see the attendance increase, although we’re a little capped there,” Leach said. “What we do see is that families are seeing the Madera Fair as a multi-day event. There’s so much to do and the value is good that families are coming multiple nights. Filling the gates feels successful. Having a safe event is a goal. People eating a lot of food and being able to have everything they can possibly take in at the fair is a good feeling.”
