Madera fisherman Larry Llanes advanced to the Super Bowl of fishing with a berth in the Bassmaster Bass Nation Championship in October.

In the three-day tournament, Llanes finished in 20th place despite some delays on the third day. For his first time in the top 20, Llanes was very satisfied with his finish.

“Considering I was competing against 250 of the top anglers around the world, I’d say that was pretty good,” he said. “Sure, I’m competitive and who doesn’t want to finish higher, but that’s fishing. So, I hold my head high and proud of my accomplishments, as well as my fellow West Coast anglers who also made the top 40 cut.”
