Letters: Wall Street v. Main Street — the two Americas

As we approach our nation’s 250th birthday, it’s worth reviewing the evolution of our revolution. Let’s briefly study the history of our two Americas: Wall Street vs. Main Street.

In 1776, property-owning white men established the foundation of the American Dream: an America that was to achieve EQUALITY FOR ALL. Historically, we have taken two steps forward with one step backward.

Those who carry the spirit of the Founding Fathers have helped Americans from the bottom up with the Social Security Act, the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, the Clean Air Act, the G.I. Bill, and the Affordable Care Act, among others. And then there are those who, through the Supreme Court, presidential executive orders, and short-sighted legislation, have gutted many of these benefits in support of their mad king.
