Pistoresi Ambulance will officially end about 83 years of medical service to Madera County on Friday at about midnight.

The official closing date for Pistoresi Ambulance is November 15; the contract expires Friday at 11:59 p.m., with American Ambulance set to come in at midnight, Saturday.

“I, and nobody else, wants to do a midnight exchange,” owner and general manager Ted Pistoresi said. “Our crews are going to come to us on Thursday, work their shift and, as they get off Friday, they will be replaced by the American Ambulance crews. We have staggered shifts, so as they come off Friday, American will take over.”
