Former Madera South and Colorado University standout Eduardo “Lalo” Herrera re-set his Mexican National record in the 1,500 meter run over the weekend. He is just two seconds from qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

Madera South standout Eduardo “Lalo” Herrero re-set his Mexican National record on Sunday at the United States Track and Field New York City Grand Prix 2024 event.

He finished the 1,500 meter race with a time of 3:35.29, just two-plus seconds off of Olympic qualifying time.

Herrera, who is running under the Mexican flag, set the National Record last year with a 3:36.09 in Germany.
