The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call for a shooting in Coarsegold.
Dispatch spoke with a man who indicated he shot another man at the 3500 block of Douglas Trail on Wednesday morning in self defense.
According to the MCSO statement, deputies responded to the scene and made contact with the involved party. A deceased person was discovered at the scene. The reporting party was detained and is cooperating with investigators.
Detectives remained on the scene and are envisaged the circumstances surrounding the incident.
