After a relatively sloppy opener, the Madera South Stallions baseball team regrouped, and came out with a better approach for a 3-2 victory over the Firebaugh Eagles at Eddie Chapa Field.

The Stallions overcame a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, and made the one-run lead hold up for the final three innings to give head coach Donovan Bertoncini his first Stallions baseball victory.

In the opening night loss to Edison, the Stallions walked 11 batters and committed eight errors. However, in Friday’s win over Firebaugh, the Stallions did not commit an error and the pitching staff only allowed two walks.
