A 58-year-old Madera man sustained minor injuries after making an unsafe turning movement and ending up over turned in a field on Avenue 12 east of Road 29, according to The California Highway Patrol.
The Trailblazer may have flipped end over end, resulting in the massive damage to the vehicle.
Public information officer Greg Rodriguez said the man was alone in the vehicle when he lost control of the 2005 Chevy Trailblazer for unknown reasons. “It was a solo vehicle incident with one occupant. The man had a head laceration and possibly other injuries. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.”
Several motorists stopped and tried to help the bleeding man out of the wreck.
The man was wearing his seat belt, which likely spared him from being further injured or ejected in the violent rollover, according to officers.
Rodriguez said no citations were issued but the incident remains under investigation and speed and distracted driving have not been ruled out.
