Motorcyclist dies in collision

A 23-year-old Chowchilla motorcyclist was killed Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. after his motorcycle collided with a pickup.

Two men in the pickup were not seriously injured.

The victim’s name had not been released as of Monday afternoon, awaiting notification of kin, according to Sgt. Denny of the Chowchilla Police Department.

Denny said the motorcyclist was traveling north on South A Street, ran a stop sign on Robertson Boulevard and struck the pickup.

Denny said the victim was treated at the scene by Chowchilla police, personnel from the Chowchilla Fire Department and an ambulance crew.

He then was rushed by ambulance to Madera, where he was taken to the Madera Community Hospital emergency room, but he died there of his injuries.
