The Madera County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the 2023-2024 county operating budget of $494,333,777 at a special meeting.
The budget, which was approved Monday, reflects a net increase of $26,400,769 over the current fiscal year across all operating funds.
The County is facing a significant challenge given the current climate consisting of high inflation and extreme labor market competitiveness. Despite discretionary revenue sources recovering to a healthy pre-pandemic level of growth, the General Fund continues to face significant budgetary deficit challenges.
