MPD seek public help in shooting
Madera Police officers responded to shots fired and found an unidentified Hispanic male suffering from a single gunshot wound. Police responded late Thursday night to the area of Georgia and Watt streets. Life saving measures were implemented and EMS responded to transport the victim to a local trauma center.
Trespasser causes restaurant closure
Madera Police Department officers responded to a call about a trespasser at Perko’s Cafe and Grill (1825 W. Cleveland Ave.) The trespasser, identified as Marcus Smith, walked into the kitchen Friday night and pulled the fire alarm. Madera Police officers responded to a call for service involving a trespasser refusing to leave. Upon arrival Sunday afternoon, the trespasser was immediately uncooperative and refused to follow orders. After attempting to “hoof it” from police, the trespasser was quickly apprehended.
