The Madera County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to redirect $500,000 to keep Madera Community Hospital alive for another month.

The funds stemming from remnants of the American Relief Plan Act will be distributed in weekly installments of $125,000. It offers a lifeline to MCH and will help the critical care facility avoid liquidating its assets before receiving aid in the form of the long awaited Distressed Hospital Loan Program, which passed in May.

The approval comes after Madera County approved $100,000 during its meeting on May 16, also from ARPA, to cover costs for renewal of state licensing.
