The filing period to run for the office of Member, Madera City Council District 5 is open through Aug. 6.

Candidates will be required to obtain 20-30 valid signatures of registered voters within City of Madera Council District 5. In addition, candidates are required to pay the non-refundable filing of $25 when nomination petitions are issued. Contact the Elections Division to learn how to obtain the necessary forms to become a candidate.
In an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Elections Division will process candidates by appointment only.
Candidates are encouraged to download the forms necessary from www.votemadera.com however, if a candidate is unable to download the documents, a candidate packet can be picked up in the lobby of the Government Center or can be mailed.
