Early Tuesday morning Madera Police Officers were dispatched to a traffic collision on Elm Street near Santa Fe Street.
A quick response to the area led to officers locating 21-year-old Gerardo Renteria near his vehicle.
Officers learned that Renteria was driving while intoxicated and struck a parked car. During a search of Renteria and his vehicle, Renteria was found in possession of a loaded firearm, a large sum of cash, and narcotics for sale.
