An earthquake centered near Oakhurst was felt by foothills residents late Sunday night.
Its magnitude was measured at 3.1 by the U.S. Geological Survey
The Sierra Star web site said it was “described by readers as a crack, a boom, rolling, shock, shake and a jerk.”
People reported feeling it from Mariposa to Prather.
We heard it was felt from Mariposa to Prather, if not farther.
The Star web site said the quake occurred at 11:32 p.m. Sunday, at a depth of just under 27 miles.
“At this time, we are unaware of any reports of damage or injuries,” the web site reported.
