With the recent storms, famers are ecstatic to see the rain come down and the snow get packed in the mountains, especially at this time of the year.
Most crops are dormant and while citrus crops are still on the trees, the rain won’t do any damage, except cause a delay in harvesting.
“The rain isn’t going to do any damage to the crops,” said Jay Mahil, Creekside Farming President and former Madera County Farm Bureau Board President. “We’re getting ready to harvest citrus. That will put us behind a little bit. It’s not a big problem. There’s not a big detriment to the crops, right now.”
