Letters: Neighborhood safety important

Friends and neighbors of Sunset and Orchard:

I am quite concerned for the safety and value of our neighborhood. The City Planning Department plans to approve 15 units of high-density rental apartments on the corner of Sunset and Orchard avenues.

This can still be stopped by the (Madera) City Council if enough people can convince them of the negative impact these apartments would have on our neighborhood and city.

High-density apartments will create more traffic and problems for parking, as we all a danger to the many children going to and from the two schools within two blocks of this complex, plus St. Joachim and Madera High School.

Possible better usage of this property might be a professional office complex for doctors, dentists, optometrists, lawyers or possible beauty salons and barbershops.
