Launch of new H.E.A.R.T. Madera

In a proactive step toward enhancing public safety and supporting vulnerable residents, Madera County has launched the Homeless Engagement and Assistance Response Team (H.E.A.R.T Madera) — a collaborative initiative focused on coordinated outreach and crisis intervention for individuals experiencing homelessness and behavioral health challenges.

The H.E.A.R.T Madera team is a co-located, multidisciplinary partnership composed of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Department of Social Services (DSS), and Community Action Partnership of Madera County, Inc. (CAPMC). Additional partners include Madera County Probation, the Madera Police Department, and the Chowchilla Police Department.

Through compassionate outreach, trauma-informed care, and accountability-driven engagement, the H.E.A.R.T Madera team aims to reduce homelessness by addressing its root causes and creating safer, healthier outcomes for all.
