FRESNO — On the hottest day of the year, the Fresno State offense was blistering from the start, and former Madera South star Murf Gray found himself in the middle of it.
Gray hit a towering home run that not only cleared the left field fence, but made it onto Cedar Avenue for the Bulldogs’ baseball team. The home run in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead over San Jose State and set the tone for a seven-inning mercy rule victory Saturday afternoon.
Gray drove in a run earlier in the game with a groundout. The Bulldogs scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth that culminated in Gray’s 13th home run of the season.
