The Madera South Stallions boys basketball team is a completely different team in the second year under head coach Colton Hafey.
The Stallions are more dynamic and play with some grit, and it showed in Tuesday’s 70-58 victory over the Mendota Aztecs. The first time the two teams played, Madera South edged Mendota by six points.
“It’s their ability to buy in and want to create something,” Hafey said of the change. “I think great teams are player-led. After last season when we went 5-23, we took a week off, and hit the ground running. I just have to give all the credit to my players.”
