The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California has been working on a project just north of Madera, a project 20 years in the making.
In September 2024, they finally broke ground on the project, the long-anticipated outward sign that this project would actually be a reality.
Recently, Madera Rotary Club asked Fred Beihn, Tribal Council Chairman, and Charlie Altekruse, public relations and spokesperson for the tribe, to speak at their meeting, and to give updates on the progress of the project.
