Shortly before midnight Saturday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Sonora St. regarding an assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers arrived on scene, they located two male juvenile victims (13 and 15 years old) who had been stabbed. The victims were attending a quinceañera when an altercation occurred outside the party, near the parking area.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Sadly, the 13-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing, and while it is uncertain at this time if the victims had any gang affiliation, the police department believes the motive to be gang related.
