St. Joachim Church to open 100 percent

Historic Madera church to open 100% after renovations, welcoming community members for worship and e.
The Madera Tribune reports the full reopening of St. Joachim Church, highlighting its significance to local faith and community life.

Saint Joachim Catholic Church will begin celebrating mass at 100 percent capacity beginning Saturday.

The Diocese of Fresno Catholic Churches notified the pastors and administrators of the upcoming changes recently. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, churches had to make accommodations in order to adhere to the new restrictions. Many churches began celebration of their mass by streaming it on their Facebook pages or other forms of social media.

Before Tuesday’s state reopening, most churches were held to 25 percent capacity. Now, that has changed.

St. Joachim will hold 10 masses each weekend inside the church with new hours.

Saturday — Spanish at 5 p.m. and English at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday — English at 6:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Spanish at 8 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Baptisms will be held Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
