Will history repeat itself in school board races?

For The Madera Tribune

Judge Conley.

Madera will once again cast its votes in a number of important races, not the least of which are the school board races.

Thus far the races have been calm. The criticisms have been measured, and the conduct of the candidates has been civil. However, one has to wonder if this civility will hold as the tension rises.

Madera has a history of hard fought school board campaigns, and every once in a while some of them turn violent — like that one in 1902.
