Wife had her own battle
Veterans’ Voices is directed toward veterans and their families who have given so much to ensure our freedom in this country. This is an area where you may share your experiences, or read of other veterans’ experiences. We thank you for your service, and hope that you know how much you are loved and appreciated.

It was 1970 and I was a young girl, at 19 years old, lying in a bed at the local hospital.
“Oh my God, the pain.”
I thought I was going to die during the delivery of my first child. I can’t stand the pain anymore. I was saying a little prayer to get me through this. I said, “I wish my husband was here. I need him. Where is he?”
