When simpler things entertained us

Technology has taken over our world and our individual lives. In many ways, technology has improved the quality of our lives. It has made work easier, communication more available, and we have better healthcare systems because of technology.

I remember a few decades ago, before personal computers were available, a computer system in a business was so big it took up an entire room. In the early 80s, after I moved to California, I worked for a non-profit organization that had a computer room as large as the Madera Tribune office. The computer filled up the entire room, and only certain people in the organization were allowed to go into that room.

I also remember hearing that in the future, every home would have a computer. I thought that was fantasy. I couldn’t imagine that kind of world.
