Mokey Cowger may be seen in Madera most anytime there is an event that brings out the American flag. He is a veteran who is proud of his country. Although he served only two years, he remembers details about his service.

Cowger was born and raised in Madera, and graduated from Madera High in 1965.

He was in the U.S. Army from Feb. 1, 1968 to Jan. 28, 1970. He was in Fort Hood, Texas, and his first assignment was the 258th Military Police company.
