Vehicle found in San Joaquin River

Members of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office walk away from a vehicle they found submerged in the San Joaquin River last week.

Around 10 a.m. on May 11, the Madera County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a report of a submerged vehicle in the San Joaquin River last Saturday morning.

Patrol deputies located a vehicle in the water near the area of Chowchilla Canal Drive and Eastside Drive. 

After confirming no occupants were inside, the MCSO Dive Team was called out to recover the SUV.
