Torres wins first two games of season

The Matilda Torres Toros baseball team waited a while, but picked up its first two wins of the season with a home victory over the Sunnyside Wildcats on Friday, and traveled to Roosevelt on Saturday for a rain, make-up win.
Jose Velasquez tossed a complete game six-hitter for Friday’s 6-3 victory over Sunnyside. The Toros banged out 12 hits in the win.
The Toros banged out another 12 hits the next day for an 11-2 win over Roosevelt. Andrew Castanon picked up the win with four innings of work.
