Torres walks to win over Toads

Matilda Torres’ Matt Escoto throws a pitch during Wednesday’s 8-1 victory over Coalinga. Escoto tossed six innings and didn’t allow an unearned run. He struck out two and only threw 76 pitches.

 

The Matilda Torres Toros drew 10 walks in a 6-3 victory over the Coalinga Horned Toads during a non-conference home game. 


The Toros had just one base hit that drove in a run Wednesday. All other runs were either forced in by a walk or hit batter or an error. 


Torres pitcher Matt Escoto was brilliant in six innings of work. He allowed three unearned runs over six innings. He only struck out two, but tossed 76 pitches a day after throwing 29 pitches over two innings the night before against Madera South.
